Lama Gaun Tashi Rabten Ling Monastery

An International Learning Center Advancing Tibetan Buddhism in the Lineage of H. E. Chöden Rinpoche, Directed by Gyalten Khen Rinpoche.

WELCOME TO LAMA GAUN TASHI RABTEN LING MONASTERY

Lama Gaun Tashi Rabten Ling Monastery is an essential and growing place for Tibetan Buddhist study, reflection, meditation practice and an international retreat center. It is nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, in the Kathmandu Valley, in Nepal.

The monastery campus idea was established in 2014 by Gyalten Khen Rinpoche to fulfill the special vision and wish of H.E. Kyabje Chöden Rinpoche for having a Tibetan learning center able to teach the Dharma to children (monks in training), and to established monks and life-long dedicated retreat practitioners. The Lama Gaun Monastery Campus will preserve the Buddhist traditions, in the lineage of H. E. Chöden Rinpoche, as the true path to ultimate happiness and freedom from suffering for oneself and all sentient beings.

Lama Gaun’s core curricula will provide a holistic education in Tibetan Buddhist and secular studies. Student’s minds and hearts will be transformed into their highest potential for the benefit of all sentient beings. Lama Gaun educates the whole child intellectually, physically and spiritually to become good practitioners and leaders for transmitting the Dharma in the lineage of H. E. Chöden Rinpoche under the guidance of Gyalten Khen Rinpoche.

Our learning campus is growing day-by-day with new students and seasoned practitioners joining the monastery. Our programs are being developed to serve both our students and the surrounding villages as well as international students of Awakening Vajra International, a Buddhist organization founded by Gyalten Khen Rinpoche to uphold and extend Buddhism worldwide to all people.

Lama Gaun offers a serene, relaxing and inspiring place to spend a few hours, days or weeks. All who wish to learn and find peace are welcome to be part of our community as guests, students, retreatants and supporters. Please stay tuned as we develop more retreats, courses and other dharmic activities to meet the varied needs of people everywhere.

In 2012, Gyalten Khen Rinpoche, under the vision of H. E. Chöden Rinpoche established Lama Gaun Tashi Rabten Monastery.
